TEX-COTE NIGHTMARES

You may be suffering from Tex-Cote Nightmares if your house appears to be “falling apart” in front of your eyes, you had the pleasure of seeing giant bubbles underneath the outer layer of your textured house or if there are large areas of your textured walls falling off.

This is a prime example of Tex-Cote peeling off the side of this house. If you are experiencing these Tex-Cote problems, rest easy; there are ways to correct them.

ABOUT TEX-COTE

TEX-COTE is an exterior, texture added, elastomeric water based emulsion. Tex-Cote is often marketed as the best solution to weatherproofing a house. They claim their product will not chip, flake or peel and that it will last for decades to come.

Unfortunately, bubbling, peeling, cracking, and flaking begin to appear when Tex-Cote is not applied after proper preparation of the underlying surface.

At Stucco Boy, we do not recommend Tex-Cote. Instead, we prefer removing and replacing Tex-Cote with traditional stucco.  Traditional stucco is more durable and if installed properly can last up to 50 years.
